The Graduating class of 2019 are all smiles having completed their exams and HSC artworks. Before sitting one of the last exams of this year’s HSC we had a wonderful study day at the NSW Art Gallery. It gave students a break from the study desk and they were able to immerse themselves in real artworks rather than textbooks and screens.
We also had a wonderful celebration of all the young artists hard work with an exhibition of the graduating class’s work. Many Thanks to Mrs. Kennedy and Ms. Gamsaragan for the beautiful catering job their hospitality students did for the show.
Two of our graduands addressed a symposium of art teachers at the Hazelhurst Gallery recently. Jess Gledhill and Jasmine Salvato spoke very confidently to the group explaining how they developed their HSC art ideas. The teachers were very fulsome in their praise of the girls’ work and they confidence they exhibited addressing a group of 32 professionals.
Congratulations must go to our students who have been nominated for showcase exhibitions in leading galleries.
Amelia Morrow has been nominated for the Art Express exhibition – which exhibits the best of the best from the year’s student art works. Amelia has also been nominated for the Clancy Prize exhibition as a college representative. Jessica Gledhill has been chosen by Hazelhurst Gallery curators for the Art Rules exhibition which is held over summer at our local gallery. She will also represent the College at the Clancy Prize.
Jasmine Salvato’s hard work has been recognised for selection in the Clancy Prize and has been published in an international art magazine.
